Yup ... a Canadian friend of mine has been quite alarmed by this prospect for some years now ... and is only getting more so by the day.

I told them to look on the upside: a lot of desperate people who will be only too glad of an opportunity to shine shoes for a living ... more (and cheaper) prostitution ... why, even the lowliest Québécois would find their status elevated by the tide of N'Orleanians. Hell, even Newfies might find themselves considered almost human in comparison ¹.
