Why shouldn't they have their statue of him?
They wanna celebrate their cultural heritage of civil disobedience, let 'em.
Put up a statue of Lee ... on his knees ... surrendering unconditionally ... after the South's abject failure to win their pitiful rebellion ... with two freed slaves (man and woman) holding him at sword/musket-point.
It'll celebrate the War ... it'll be historically accurate and, therefore, a great thing for schools to examine in lessons ... they'll have their statue of their hero — everyone's a winner .... what's not to like about it?
