Why?

I said “ a small town hardly worthy of the appellation” not “ a small town hardly worthy of the epithet” — which latter would be a more accurate formulation.

I was being non-confrontational, so, what’s the problem?

Moreover, I said “I’m sorry to have to inform you that a quarter of a million people do not a city make,” not “I’m sorry to note that you feel the need to sully this discussion with reference to the Zone 3 shithole you inhabit.”

I really don’t see what more I could have done by way of meeting you not only more than halfway but virtually on your own doorstep.
