There’s Always A Lighthouse … Always A Man … Always A City

The three constants in the multiverse — that’s how the folklore goes, isn’t it?

But does it truly reflect the nature of things? Or is it merely some confabulation … part misremembered, part fabricated … of ancient wisdom and ancient ignorance?

Granted, Alan Wake has an encounter with a lighthouse¹ but … as Aura probably won’t be at all surprised to learn … in my experience at least, the three constants are a man, a brothel and a mental institution².

Yes, I’ve been absent from Medium for a while ³.

No, I don’t have anything particularly profound to say now either .

But it’s definitely food for thought, isn’t it?

Anyway … as you’ll no doubt be equally unsurprised to learn … I have to go watch Machine Gun Preacher now — so, l8rz, peeps.

¹ Although the less said about that, the better, if you ask me.

² Not necessarily in that order.

³ I’ve been busy.

⁴ Albeit there may be an unintentional profundity to the above observation regarding the nature of Reality.

⁵ Which is vaster than the merely material.

⁶ It’s probably best not to dwell on why my visits to brothels always seems to end with a murder spree though.

⁷ I don’t know myself ⁸ and am at somewhat of a loss to explain it , but … as I said … it’s probably best not to dwell upon it.

⁸ I have no negative attitude towards prostitution.

⁹ Especially when you consider that I do have certain (understandably) antipathetic feelings towards the criminally insane yet my sojourns to asylums seldom (if indeed ever) climax in a bloodbath.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live and too rare to die.
