(Poor Taste) QotD

Them ¹: “Plus … you get to be Heath Ledger. And who doesn’t want to be him?

Me: “People who’d rather be alive?” ²

¹ Extolling the virtues of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

² Don’t get me wrong, I love Black Flag … (it’s not only one of the better AC games, but one of the better pirate games at all ³)

… but that’s not the point.

³ If she hasn’t already, Aura should definitely take a look at Crimson: Steam Pirates, for inspiration — and do whatever … whatever … it takes to get her hands on a Dreamcast / GameCube and play Skies of Arcadia / Legends, just because .

Or Sunless Sea, obviously. Oh, and probably Man O’War: Corsair — Warhammer Naval Battles (which has elves and dwarfs ). Maybe, at a pinch, Risen 2: Dark Waters. Maelstrom, if she absolutely must (there’s no accounting for taste and I’ve all but given up on hers at this point and, these days, just roll with the punches as an enabler ).

⁴ If ACIV:BF isn’t the best pirate game of all time then SoA is.

The ultimate steam/diesel/atom-punk science fiction anime fantasy game of all time — with pirates in the sky!

⁵ So, it’ll probably appeal (she’s weird like that).

⁶ It’s not Stockholm Syndrome as such … I just know when I’m beat.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live and too rare to die.
