Perhaps if you’d started with English, you might’ve had more success and that would’ve made it easier to use what you learned about how to make best of the app to learn Spanish.

I learned from moving to France with 36 hours’ notice and having to learn French well enough to teach English to unmotivated ‘problem’ kids for a year that, once you’ve done it once, the second time is much easier because you have learned what works for you and develop strategies … and put that experience to good use by moving to Germany and learning German working in bars and drinking in the street with the local down-and-outs — I learned that problem kids are deeply problematic and not to do it that way again.
