Peaceful armies of the righteous didn’t defeat Hitler and they won’t defeat Trump either.

As a Brit, I have no dog in this fight except insofar as I am a citizen of the World who see that rather than clinging to outmoded jingoistic nationalism, so I care when I see certain changes in the Zeitgeist, wherever it takes place.

The brownshirts took Germany down the terrible path it trod … the brexiters are ruining (if not outright destroying) the UK … Trump supporters will do the same to the US — leave them to their own devices and you’ll see McCarthyism rear its ugly head again all too soon.

When is enough enough? When do we stop appeasing and stand up to them and their regressive attitudes? Because they sure as shit won’t do the same for us: look at the brexiters’ attitude even today; they have no interest in building bridges with remainers, just in lording it over them — their attitude of “You lost. Get over it” isn’t mirrored in their own inability to get over the fact that they ‘won’, is it?
