Muahahahaha … Brutal
New (20") second monitor … rotated to portrait … at 900x1600 pixels.
Instead of sixteen, I can see forty tracks simultaneously.
No more shrinking/expanding track groups and scrolling up and down, frantically trying to spot where something needs tweaking … I can leave them all expanded!
I can’t work like this though … what with the mixer and the various synths and fx plugins, I still can’t see what I’m doing half the time.
I need a third monitor.
Actually, I need at least four … six really … but my laptop will only support three at the most (built-in screen + 1x HDMI + 1x USB), so, I’ll still be struggling once I open two synths simultaneously, because I’ve only room for four objects on a 20" 900x1600 monitor and can only display two fx plugins at that stage. Which is no good at all: delay or reverb each and that’s my lot … no room for both (let alone a distortion plugin as well) unless I only work on one synth at a time — and once you start tweaking one, you need to tweak all the others as well, to get the sounds to sit properly again … and it’s a pita having to shift everything about if you leave them all open and you invariably end up missing one and editing the wrong thing, losing time and having to undo the edits to boot.
I need multiple, synced laptops, with multiple monitors: about six laptops and thirty-six monitors — why, oh, why, wasn’t I born to obscene wealth?
*sigh*
