Almost everyone except me is only borderline sentient (IQ 76–100 ¹).
Doubt me?
Think there’s a bell curve of intelligence?
Think again …
See that curve … it’s not only weighted to the left but the right-hand edge drops off steeply ².
Moreover, the graph indicates the relative placement of the different types of average, not their specific values ³ — everything from the peak to the far left is still indicative of a lower score than the less commonly occurring values to the right … there are just more of them.
George Carlin was wrong … it’s much worse than he suggested — and what the World needs more of is fewer people who aren’t me …
But wouldn’t the World be boring, if we were all alike?
Not if we were all like me, it wouldn’t, no.
Because it wouldn’t be in the mess it’s in.
I’m lazy … I hate working and I love sitting around with friends. So, I work hard to get it out of the way fast … and I do it properly, so that I don’t have to go back and redo it.
I walk fast … so fast that most people have to almost run to keep up with me when I’m just casually strolling — that way, I get from A to B quickly and get to spend more time sitting around with my friends (or whatever else it is I’d rather be doing than making my way from A to B) …
I love to party … so, we’d do all the things that needed doing quickly and properly, get them right first time, leaving all the more time to party, safe in the knowledge that there was nothing we needed to worry about.
Trust me … it’d be amazingc, if we were all like me!
And the moral of the story is … as ever … be grateful for what you’ve got — because, basically, I’m fantastic!
Seriously … be like me — I’m your everlovin’ groovy vicar … your only hope in Hell ⁴.

¹ The Levine and Marks 1928 IQ classification actually stipulates ‘borderline’ as IQ 75–84, with IQ 85–94 being ‘dull’ and IQ 95–105 being ‘average’, but, let’s face it, average intelligence ain’t nothin’ to write home about and, furthermore, ain’t that common neither …
² And you are not on the right-hand side.
³ Well, okay, the absolute values are correct too, but only relative to the start and end of the curve and you don’t want to confuse yourself with that — it’ll only lead you astray … because there are no specific values, the graph is stretched/distorted … and your thinking is muddled enough as it is.
⁴ This post brought to you by some bad influences …
… and a misspent youth, early adulthood and probably middle age too 😀
