Mensa members and other mentally challenged people.

And then there‘s the statistically significant correlation between southpaws and criminality ... which I mentioned a couple or so years back, but can't link to now because Medium's ever-worsening search function has finally reached the point whereby ... never mind any results based upon keywords or tags ... I can type in the complete title of a post that I can find by other means and it returns no results — Medium has been the worst platform ever created right from its inception but, somehow ... I really don't know how ... contrives to get steadily worse even today ¹.

I'm slowly, but surely, approaching the tipping point after which I don't flounce off in a fit of First World pique but just use it less and less frequently until, one day, it's been so long that I realise I quit five years ago but have only now got around to noticing ... and the rest of you have long since forgotten my name in the meantime.

But this might actually prove to be a good thing in the long term: as I’ve (unfortunately) had multiple occasions to note over the years, the problem is that far too many people, who really shouldn’t, communicate by way of the written word these days — texting and social media have turned them all into readers when, in days gone by, they’d rather have had a root canal with no anesthetic than read anything … and, as a result, they write as well, but have few, if any, comprehension skills (you can tell from the appalling spelling, grammar and misuse of words that mean something else altogether). But, if Medium’s mediocre experience discourages them then, much like Twitter and TikTok ² and the like, it will ultimately, have done the World a great service.

¹ Day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year ... not only are new features nobody even wants, let alone needs, added but they don't even work.

The ones people do need never worked properly to begin with, get steadily worse and are gradually removed altogether over time.

² Sure, they write and film still, but the limitations of the character/second count of each of those services means that their drivel is mercifully short.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live and too rare to die.
