Long ago ... some time in the very early '90s (around '91/'92, iirc) ... I posited that the day humanity went to war with the AIs would be precipitated not by their turning upon us but by their ignoring us ... and we ... overbearing 'parents' that we are ... couldn't allow that teen rebellion to go unpunished ... and it escalated from there

... that we started it, not the AIs.
