I’ll Be Your Huckleberry

Daisies … little bursts of free sunshine — irascible, they keep coming back no matter how hard the bereft of soul try to eradicate their light from the World.

Dandelions (equally irascible bursts of sunshine that then turn into a toy to delight children of all ages) are also a delight to the eye on a frosty morn … or simply dew-bejewelled … be-dew-elled … on a warmer one. And you can eat the leaves and stalks … and make coffee from the roots — truly a gift that keeps on giving no matter how hard the soulless try to stop them.

Try as they might, the miseries of the World cannot take them from us — not until Monsanto find a way of genetically modifying them anyway *sigh*

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live and too rare to die.
