... and I have learned some surprising things about the Galapagos in the last couple if days too — namely that

1. they're Ecuadorian (who'd'a thunk!?)

2. I might actually quite like to go there and see them (before it's too late to do so)

3. they have an oddly holistic ¹ connection to Madagascar and I might, as a result, like to go there too ².

² That's twice in the past two days someone has mentioned lemurs and now I’m kinda motivated to take an ill-advised trip to Madagascar to see them, where I will (as a typical, urban Westerner) get too close to them, receive a well-deserved bite/scratch for my troubles, catch rabies and die.
