If I remember rightly, it was to do with an NPC in the game who, very early on in it, made some remarks that were very clearly meant to be understood as disparaging of the denizens of the U.S.

It was funny but, quite rightly, somebody took issue with it on the grounds that it was bigotry, plain and simple; not only was it inherently so but, furthermore, it was gratuitous … adding nothing but spurious insult to the game, neither advancing the plot nor developing the character’s personality in any way — it was an insult to the American people for the sake of it.

However, as is evidenced by my comment at the time, no matter how much I might have agreed with the commentator, they went about raising, and debating, the issue in such a way that, even though I agreed with their point, I really felt like joining in with everyone else on the forum and insulting them for being thin-skinned, holier than thou, the very kind of person the original ‘joke’ was a reference to (even though they were anything but that) — they just really rubbed me up the wrong way.
