I picked UBI because you mentioned it, not because I have a bee in my bonnet. My argument in that regard, however, stands and is not diminished by your dismissal of it — if you agree with me then say so, don’t turn it into a point-scoring match neither of us can win because there are only so many ways to agree. But I’ll tell you now that the recent experiments with it in Finland/Sweden show it wasn’t the panacea many would like it to be.

But be that as it may …

You have no idea who I am or what I know …. what I have done, where, for how long, what my experience is.

You make assumptions about my arguments based upon assumptions about me, rather than engaging with the argument put before you.

Why should I, as a European who has already lived in multiple countries and cultures that are, by US standards, 'socialist' but by European simply social democratic ... and one that was, by its own, actually Socialist ... immersed myself in them sufficiently to learn the languages to effectively native level (not infrequently better than the average native speaker), got inside them, became them … listen to the parochial (and it is blatantly so) opinion of someone whose response to critique is tell me what I think and why rather than ask me what I mean?

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live and too rare to die.
